Harvest Planning and Execution Process

Maximize crop yields and optimize labor efficiency with our comprehensive Harvest Planning and Execution Process. Streamline everything from maturity forecasting and equipment scheduling to real-time field logistics and post-harvest handling. Designed for precision farm management, this workflow minimizes waste, reduces operational downtime, and ensures a seamless transition from field to storage through data-driven decision-making and automated task tracking.

Start
1. Fetch Crop Inventory
2. Get Field Availability
3. Calculate Harvest Window
4. Assign Harvest Supervisor
5. Create Harvest Plan
6. Calculate Total Estimated Yield
7. Assign Field Crew
8. Assign Logistics Team
9. Notify Logistics
10. Update Field Status
11. Log Actual Yield
12. Update Inventory Levels
13. Calculate Yield Variance
14. Generate Harvest Post-Mortem Report
15. Clear Temporary Harvest Schedule
End

Start of the Workflow/Process.

Retrieve existing crop types and maturity dates from the Crop Data Model to identify which crops are ready for harvest.

Retrieve field data to check which plots are accessible and ready for harvest execution.

Calculate the start and end dates of the harvest window based on maturity dates and weather forecasts.

Create a task for the Farm Manager to review and approve the proposed harvest plan.

Create a new entry in the Harvest Plan data model containing the approved schedule and allocated resources.

Aggregate the estimated weight/volume from all planned harvest entries to determine total expected output.

Create tasks for Field Leads containing the specific checklist of plots to be harvested.

Create tasks for the transport team to prepare trucks and containers based on the harvest volume.

Send an email to the transport department with the finalized harvest schedule and volume estimates.

Update the 'Status' field in the Field Data Model to 'In Harvest' once the execution begins.

Create a new entry in the Harvest Results data model to record the actual weight harvested vs. the estimate.

Update the Warehouse/Storage data model to reflect the incoming quantity of harvested crops.

Aggregate estimated vs. actual yields to calculate the percentage of variance for the harvest season.

Create a final report summarizing total yield, cost, and efficiency for the completed harvest cycle.

Delete the temporary planning entries once the final harvest plan has been converted to an official record.

End of the Workflow/Process.
